travel to Florence by train

a party of eight of us are travelling to Castigilion in June this year. We want to visit Florence and Siena but would rather not have to drive( we will have a hire car) does anyone know how much the rail fares would be and whether there is a train station in or near Castiglion?

There are a number of trains each day, taking 1 to 2 hours and costing €6.70. For train times, see www.trenitalia.it/homepage_en.html

It is absolutely pointless trying to book these trains in advance. They are local trains with no seat reservations, and tickets cannot sell out.
