Paying by card

Just wondered if most bars/restaurant's are ok for accepting card payments rather than cash?

It can depend where you go I suppose. I was in Kassiopi last week and paid cash in tavernas because that’s what I always do. I bought shoes and paid by card. Both credit and debit card providers charge the shop/bar/taverna for usage so that may put off places from wanting to use them, especially if the bill is smallish. I know I use them all the time in the U.K. but it’s a bit different in Greece where the the austerity measures put in place make life difficult for people. I suppose you’ll just have to try it and see.

Everywhere has to accept them now by law, with very few exceptions. Having said that I would always use cash if it’s just a coffee or beer, anything of a small amount.
