Hiking Maps for Slano - Croatia

Hi - I am visiting Slano - Croatia later in the year on a walking holiday. Anyone recommend any good maps of the local area? Trails and footpaths. Thanks :-)

Last time I was there, Slano tourist office had one.

I haven't been able to find the equivalent of OS maps for Croatia. The best I have found are Freytag and Berndt 1:100,000 which is good enough for driving but not great for walking. Otherwise take a look at Openstreetmap.org which is more detailed than Google Maps.

Click on no 30 here (the Cartography site of Croatian Mountain Rescue Service) and you will get the map

I have ordered a Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) map from a shop in Upton on Severn in Worcs.

website: themapshop.co.uk

There is a No. 30 in the series but it says it’s for an area near the Plitvice Lakes - Slunj. They may have one that covers the area you are visiting. They were very helpful.

According to HGSS site http://www.gss.hr/hgss/kartografija/ Slunj is no. 8 from the series "Continental Croatia" (blue dots) while no 30 from the series "The Dinaric Alps" is named "Dubrovacko primorje" - "Dubrovnik coastal area" and covers Slano area.

When you open the no 30 on the link I provided, you can see the printed map cover in the upper right corner - here's the print screen; http://prntscr.com/keuhq9

It's a pity HGSS site has no English language section...
