Singapore to Parit Sulong

We have read an earlier post re this topic. However, I would like to revive it.

If we wished to go to Parit Sulong:

1. Could we start the journey by train in Singapore?

2. If so, where would we get off? Presumably from there, we could get to Parit Sulong by taxi.

3. Could we get to Melaka from Parit Sulong by taxi?

4. If so, any idea on possible price (by negotiation)?

My wife is named after an Australian soldier killed in the Battle of Muar at the Bridge at Parit Sulong. She is very keen to see the memorial at Parit Sulong.

How can we get there, from Singapore?

Could we (relatively) easily get to Melaka from Parit Sulong?

Many thanks

No train service from Singapore to Muar, By car will be the easiest way from Singapore to Parit Sulong, May be you can take the express bus from Johor Bahru towards Muar and stop at Parit Sulong (Note: Parit Sulong is small town before reaching Muar.) The bus fare will be around RM15/trip.

copy from other site:

Another alternative is to cross the border to Johor Bahru and take a bus to Muar from the Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru.

Step 1 – From Changi Airport

Take the MRT train and get off at Kranji MRT Station. Cost: SGD1.90

Step 2 – From Kranji MRT to Larkin Bus Terminal

From Kranji MRT Station take Bus No.170 to Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru. The bus ticket cost SGD1.40 per person.

Step 3 – From Larkin Bus Terminal to Muar Bus Station

From Larkin Bus Terminal (Johor Bahru) there are 3 bus companies that have services to Muar:

Mayang Sari Ekspress - last bus is at 7.15pm

KKKL Ekspress - last bus is at 8.00pm

The bus ticket cost RM15 per person.

The journey from Larkin Bus Terminal to Muar takes roughly 2 1/2 hours.

I am not very sure the express bus stop at Parit Sulong or not (depends their route), you can ask to bus driver or the ticket counter.

Another suggestion is take the bus from Johor Bahru to Batu Pahat and take the charter taxi to Parit Sulong (around 20Km) which is nearer compare from Muar (around 30Km).

Hope this can help.
