1st timers - Tsokkos Marlits beach hotel

Hi We are first timers to Cyprus. We will be travelling as 2 adults and a near 3 year old next aug. we havent actually booked yet but we are looking at Tsokkos Marlita beach hotel. We are looking for somewhere that is family friendly, clean , & has other kids for my son to play at pool with. With regards to the area we are looking for somewhere that is not tacky , has some nice restaurants and shops and is in easy walking distance ! Do you think pernera/protaras are the right location for us ??

This is probably one of the nicest areas in Cyprus, thereis a lovely child friendly beach on you doorstep and at least 3 excellent restaurants Blue spice, monitors and Ifalos less than 50 metres away, I woul highly recommend this area to anyone

Protaras is a far bigger resort that Pernera and far more going on at night, although the Marlita beach is only a 10-15 min walk along the promenade so u are not that far away and there are some nice bars along the walkway

I can't comment on the hotel as we have nver stayed there,we always stay in Protaras usually the Rising Star, very family friendly, which is the second hotel u come to if u walk along the promenade from the Marlita into the main resort.

If you look on google maps/earth it will give u a good indication where everything is

Thank you fechan, just really nervous as seen some bad reviews about the rooms being old , dirty & smelly. Thats the last thing you want on holidays especially with a child. Also some people saying lots of noise. Is there a room & block you would recommend that is newly renovated & quiet ? Maybe we could request it ?

HI lindak20, in August the whole area is more busy as the cypriots are usually on holiday and lots travel to protaras / pernera from nicosia, so weekends especially can be quite noisy. I have never stayed at the marlita, but it has been recently refurbished and looks great from the outside, definitely a great location, but we stay in private accomodation a little back from the hub bub!

There are plenty of places to eat in the area and as previously mentioned, you can always walk along the coastal walkway into Protaras, but again, weekends in Protaras can be hectic! Having said that, don't let it put you off, a bit of noise on a Friday and Saturday night is nothing compared to the overall experience of such a lovely area.

Any questions please ask!

Lilly
