Corfu Airport Drinks

On the return trip I would suggest that you take a 500ml bottle of drink with you to the airport and drink it just before you go through security to help to keep you hydrated.

It will keep you hydrated for a while and will save you money. A 500ml bottle of Diet Coke, Sprite, etc, costs E3.80 ( £3.20) in the departure lounge

If you do need a drink in the departure lounge rather than playing the excessive cafe prices go into the duty free shop; there is a fridge on the right hand side towards the back, and they sell lemon tea in there, I always find this very refreshing, and its much cheaper than the drinks in the shops at around 1 euro for a bottle.

We flew back from Corfu two days ago as we were also disgusted with the prices for drinks at the very expensive everest cafe/restaurant in the departure lounge we got a bottle of lemon/ginger drink from the fridge of the open shop (the one that sells all local, Corfu products) to the right of the duty free shop. This drink sells at EUR 2,50 a bottle and was the cheapest we could find.

Do Not Buy this drink! Although we didn't shake the bottle the drink started spouting out as soon as we opened the bottle. There was clearly too much gas in it. It took about five minutes for the bottle's contents to calm down (by which time half of it was on the floor) and when we finally got to drink it, it tasted absolutely foul!! We complained to the lady behind the till but she refused to give us our money back. In the half hour that followed we saw three more passengers with the same problem, also not getting a refund after complaining.

You do not want to spend your last holiday money on cleaning the departure's lounge floor!
