very unlikely as most rental companies do not allow travel between the two countries. however, if you look at terms and conditions of a relevant rental company, you will find out where you are allowed to go.

Even if it is allowed by the car rental company, be aware that the drop-off fee will be several hundred euros.
A few years ago we rented a car at the airport in Italy and were allowed to travel into Slovenia and Croatia (and Austria) but we were returning the car to Treviso. It turned out that the vehicle we were given had French plates so it obviously had been dropped off transnationally (but as I say, it will have been at a price)
