Suggestions on "what's the best" at mar blue for dinner?

Thinking about leaving Jake's and heading out to dinner at Mar Blue fr an evening on vacation next month. What do you suggest from the menu?

The menu, when I was there two years ago, is limited in "always" stuff and abundant in specials. So when you arrive or when you reserve, ask what Axel's special that night is. I did that every time and was never disappointed. If he catches a kingfish, it's kingfish. If he has a cool pork thing he feels like making, it will be that. Etc. Hard to go wrong there with whatever the special is that night. Don't be afraid to ask how much it is though, it's pricey for TB, not pricey by, say, NYC standards.

Just got an e-mail reply from bluemar that they will be off island and closed the weekend we were hoping to make dinner reservations....so sad!

Any other dinner suggestions for the treasure beach (near Jakes) area? We will have a car.

Nothing on the gourmet level of Mar Blue. But easily a dozen nice places to eat, from roadside cook shops to somewhat higher end restaurants. A couple that I try to hit every time:

Go to Pelican Bar by boat and get some super fresh seafood out there - lobster and fish are specialties.

Little Ochi in Alligator Pond is easy to reach with a car, about 30-45 minutes from TB and no major traffic to contend with. Again, seafood is the thing there, you can eat in a boat on stilts on the beach. You pick your fish, lobster, crab from a cooler and choose how they prepare it from a list (escoveitch, stew, curry, etc) and pay by the pound. People come from all over JA to eat there.

Both rustic but fresh and delicious.
