Hotel Raito- Airport Transfer

We are due to go to Hotel Raito on Satuday 14th August for 5 days. We arrive at Naples airport andhave to make our own way from airport to the hotel. The hotel organise a shuttle but it costs 120 euros each way which we feel is very expensive given that you can hire a car for the whole week for that amount. Can anyone who has done it advise on the best thing to do? Is it a good idea to hire a car? Are the roads safe enough to drive? How much would a taxi be from the airport to the hotel and does anyone know a way of pre booking it before getting there? any tipe much appreciated! :)

What I would do is this - take the Alibus to Napoli Centrale (main train station). It's a direct bus that leaves the airport every half hour. You pay the driver upon boarding (about 3 euros).

Once at the train station, board a train to Salerno. The fastest trains will take 30 minutes and cost you maybe 8-10 euros. The slower regional trains will cost less and take around an hour.

Once in Salerno, you can take a public SITA bus to Vietri sul Mare. The buses are right in front of the station. You want a bus headed to Amalfi, and you can get tickets from the tourist info office in the station, or a tabacci stand. Vietri sul Mare is only a few minutes out of Salerno.

There is also a taxi stand outside the Salerno train station. A cab from there shouldn't cost much.

Good luck.
