Where is general store/bottle shop near Shangri La?

I am heading over in this Sept school hols with my 7 year old and just wondering how do we get from the Shangri La resort on Yanuca island over to a store wherever I can get snack items like chips/biscuits and juice/beer/wine etc to avoid paying hotel prices for snacky things? I am used to just walking down to shops in other places like Thailand but wonder re the whole island thing and accessibility-is there a boat shuttle?

Tks

Sigatoka will have everything you need about 20 mins away, by taxi you will also probably find small shops closer along but they will probably not sell alcohol..

Boat transfers from the island are unnecessary, there is a bridge between the mainland and the island but agree with 'Hooked' bit far to walk.

See if they do an all inclusive. We used to do one at NavitI and found it was excellent for ice creams etc for the kids without raiding mum and dads pockets.

You could to take some biscuits, chips, and other snacks with you in your checked luggage. Any food items must be declared. Another option, if taking a taxi or private transfer to the resort from the airport, is to have your driver stop at one of the markets in Nadi or Sigatoka for your wants.

Have a look at the following for other suggestions of what to take with you, and other helpful information:

About 10 dollars Fiji return the hotel will call the cab it's about 5 min down the road out the gate and turn left there is a little general store with snacks and local beer. I can't remember if they have wine or not but you can take 4.5 litres duty free(worth doing)

Yes been in Fiji last month and stated at geckos resort, opposite shangrai . There is a town Cuvu is easy to get to along the rd toward nadi, not the highway . Lots of small shops, restaurants, a yummy cake shop upstairs, a indian restaurant, a seafood restaurant and varies other food places there was several small supermarket type shops to buy snacks etc. But you can bring yr snacks with u from home eg potato chips, lollies, museuli bars- As these are expensive in Fiji. Chocolate cheap in sifatoka supermarket for copies of chit chat etc - under two Fiji dollars packet There were shops advertising there sold alcohol but when didnt look at them. Bear in mind sigatoka is only 10 minutes ride on local or express bus which pass very regularly on highway and only 2dollars each way
