Family Fun Trip

We will be coming to San Antonio May 6-9. We want to do Sea World and the Alamo. We are a homeschool family with kids, 7, 5, 3 and a baby. We'd like to stay at a hotel with a great pool to hang out and play with the kids some. We have friends staying on the riverwalk for a convention.

Suggestions please! :-)

Your information is a little confusing. Which is the most important for you, being by your friends on the Riverwalk? Being near Sea World? or a supper cool pool?

Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel has a super cool pool, but it's pricey and far from downtown. Either of the Drurys downtown are a good value for a family but far from Sea World.

Ha, my husband said it was confusing also!

We probably would like to stay downtown. We will hit Sea World on Sunday when we drive in and then head to our hotel from there.

A good pool is pretty important. I don't want just your average lap pool. Price isn't a huge factor.

If you stay downtown and have time, be sure to visit the Children's Museum, kids will love it!

Float down the 950-foot Ramblin' River® and enjoy the passing scenery, while the river winds its way through the resort’s beautifully landscaped grounds. Pick up an inner tube at the mouth of a limestone tunnel and float down the Ramblin' River® from the active pool into the floating waterway"

In the downtown area you are gonna find there are only standard type pools.

The Drury Plaza or Suites is a great value for your family with it's FREE amenities.

www.druryhotels.com/properties/alamo.cfm they have a rooftop pool & indoor pool.

Homewood suites is further down on the riverwalk but it has a Full Kitchen if that is of any interest.

www.homewoodsuitesriverwalk.com

SA Marriott Rivercenter www.marriott.com/satrc has an outdoor pool & indoor pool + it connected to Rivercenter www.shopreivercenter.com & Riverwalk.

You should take the 45 min narrated cruise which will give you lots of info + it will be fun for the kids. www.rioSanAntonio.com

Octoboy gave you places with excellent pool area but they are further out from the downtown area.

Thanks guys. This is all very helpful. We are going to try to get a great deal from Priceline or Hotwire for either La Cantera or Hyatt Hill Country for a night or two and then head to the Riverwalk area for the last night.

I was gonna suggest to break it up but I thought you wanted to be with your friends in the downtown area.

Here is another website to check out Hot Deals

www.SanAntonio.com/hotels

or

www.visitSanAntonio.com click on SAVE then hotels.

As Octoboy said the best of both worlds.

Ok, got Hyatt Hill Country for $110 on Priceline. So excited! I'll check out your links for a great riverwalk hotel.
