Car rental? Which?

My husband is taking our two oldest kids soon (age 10 and 7) and is debating on his car rental. Either a regular car like a lumina or a F150 truck or a minivan. He also said mustang but I’m being the uncool wife and saying nope. He’s just driving from Denver to Estes park (& doing rmnp hiking). Any idea which is best or are they all one in the same?

Don't need anything special to drive it just a car. Whatever size they think they need for space. Trucks vans sports cars will up the price considerably generally.

A pickup will be a pain in the rear for parking and just maneuvering in town. If you're not hauling or towing something that requires a pickup, don't get that. A mustang will be OK with the kids. The back seats are tiny and the back windows small, though, so not the most comfortable choice with three people. Just a regular car will be fine.

When your husband drives from Denver to Estes Park, the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway is the more scenic route. For hiking in RMNP, heed the advice from rangers about managing the crowds in RMNP.

In addition to hiking in RMNP, the #1 must do in the park is to both drive and explore Trail Ridge Road. A regular car is just fine for doing this as well.
