Whats new

Can anyone tell me if there are any significant changes in the restaurants/bars in Icmeler (bar Café del Mar being "rebuilt"). Ant new ones? Also over last few year fads have appeared such as the motorised trikes. Is there anything new in that sense that would interest my teenagers?

Hi Barry,

I'll watch this with interest as our 15 year old is going without his older sister for this holiday, so they normally have arguments with each other that keep them occupied!

So all I've heard from him leading up to this holiday is......"It's going to be boring", I know it won't be, he's just being a typical teenager!

But would be good to see what activities others suggest to keep the teenagers occupied.

Regards Adam

Adam, we did the go Karts in Marmaris last year and they were brill. exactly what a 15 year old would like (though my eldest wasn't at all interested).

Brilliant he loves the Karts, always on them in previous years in Hisaronu, he enjoys nothing more than trying to beat me and have the bragging rights. Definately a trip into Marmaris for a few nights at least.

Never been to either Icmeler or Marmaris so it will be interesting to see what both resorts have to offer.

Ahh the Go Karts!!

Last year we went to these Go Karts 4 times in all. Double sessions.

My said 15 year old lad was beating me 3-0 and I was determined to get a score back before we went home.

So......the races last for 20 laps or so.

There's a long stretch where you go full blast before the last turn.

I found myself about 20 seconds ahead of him on the last lap. So trying to be the 'good father', I stopped and waited for him just before the last turn so we could cross the line together.

He had other ideas!

He comes hurtling down the straight and decides to ram me at full speed!

I had a bruise down my left side for about 3 weeks!

I won't be so generous next month!

Get the DVD as well. They will drop it off at your apartments that evening. Costs 100TL.

Was it 100tl per kart? How long did you get for that 25 quid is more than what we pay here

If I can remember right the Karts were only about £16 each. That's for a double session.

They pick you up in an open top jeep, then drop you off at your apartments.

There's a guy who runs round taking photo's while you're there. Really good photo's.

There were three of us last year and we got the DVD with about 50 photo's.

The DVD cost 100TL.

I suppose you get around 45 minutes in all.

You might have to wait until your turn, but it's fun watching.

We only waited once, for about 10 minutes and that was mid july.

You're out of your apartments about a couple of hours from start to finish.

Big thing this year seems to be what can only be described as the double mobility style scooter. Plenty of them around and can do about 10/15 MPH

The double mobility scooter is brilliant - a couple I know who have limited mobility were able to go to Marmaris on the coast path for the first time this year & loved it

I loved the buggy safari last year, to say we got soaked and covered in mud is an understatement...brilliant day out.
