Picnic on the beach

Are picnics on the beach allowed? Just thought it'd be nice to go there one evening and watch the sun go down with a couple drinks and a picnic?

Yes, of course - many stretches of the beach are operated by bars or hotels and you're expected to buy some drinks or food while you're there, but there are also "public" bits of beach and you can simply go there and do your own thing. At the harbour end of the beach, both the Deniz Kapisi and Liberty restaurants have jetties out over the sea with tables etc if you fancied sitting having a meal and watching the sun go down one night - while at the other side, along the coastal path towards Marmaris, there are several bars/cafes which have fantastic views across the bay where you could do the same.

Picnics are fine but don't light a portable barbecue or light a fire
