Turkish visas charges 2015

Hi,

We are just trying to organise Turkish visas on https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/

This is the official government site.

The cost is £69 ?!

On the Turkish consulate page the cost is £92!

We have been going to Turkey for the last 15 years and the cost used to be £10.

Has anything changed?

Is it still possible to get a visa at the airport?

I can’t find anything on the internet so any advice will be welcome.

Thank you very much.

NEW 2015 evisa information

03 January 2015, 21:58

yellali.com/news/article/99/evisa-update-obt…

30th December 2014

At YellAli we have received many enquires about the issuing of the Tourist entry visa after 01.01.2015.

We have been advised by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the issuing of the Tourist visa at points of entry to Turkey will remain as before, after 01.01.2015.

Visitors arriving to Turkey without a valid e-visa will be allowed to purchase an entry visa from Turkish airports, either by interactive kiosk placed at arrivals, or directly from border authorities.

The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised that until further notice existing procedures will continue.

The cost of an e-visa online is 20 USD, and the cost of a visa at arrivals to Turkey is 20 GBP.

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply.

Did you do yours on the e-visa website?

We have realised that my husband was charged £69 some time ago..

cost on the official website is only $20 usd, per person. Unfortunately there are some official looking websites that charge more

You can still buy at airport but that may cause you a delay if there is a queue and it costs £20 per person

I am trying to help an elderly lady purchase a evisa. We have been through the system about 6 times now. Each time we rich the payment page and put in our details we receive an error message. When contact the consulate they tell us to check that the money has not left the account and to start again. The lady has to travel 20 miles each time we do that. She is very worried about it although she is not travelling until Oct. She does not want to apply when she gets there. Her travel agent has not offered her assistance and tell her it can be a long queue when you get there and the instructions may not be in English. Has anyone else had the same problem. Can anyone help. It is important to get the correct government site. A google search could lead you to false sites . That might be why some people have been charged more. I was nearly caught out myself.

semp270 - Not heard of people getting error messages. Does it say anything specific?

Just a thought. Does her passport have sufficient validity? It would need to be valid for 6 months, until April 2016.
