1. Re: exchange rate

The rate is around the same as it was for some of the summer last year, around 3.5 lira to £. This time last year it did manage to peak around 3.8 to lira, bt it seems to have settled down.

best to keep your eye on the rate and decide from there.

You always get a slightly better rate in resort so most folks just take around £50-£100 to get started and change money in resort as and when needed. Plenty of cash machines in resort and instructions are in English

hi chickpeacurry... the bank rate in turkey is currently sitting at 3.81...... the exchange rate over here is not good compared to the bank rate so best thing to do is exchange once is resort for a much much better rate. if you are seriously thinking about exchanging anytime soon check the website out below, they usually give the best rates in the uk currently 3.66 to the pound. personally id hang on untill you get into resort as if you was in resort now you would get anywhere upto about 3.80 at todays rate. matt

Thanks I have always found a better rate with cash but the fairfz rate was better than I had expected. People have commented on a rise in food and alcohol prices are these significant.

Hi chickpcacurry Sterling is very strong against the Turkish lira and has been for over a year now. The problem is there is a shortage of lira in the UK so the rate is very poor compared to the Turkish bank rate so theres no point changing any unless Sterling suddenly weakens your going to get a far better rate in resort.

The rate is sitting roughly as high as its ever been at over 3.81 :)) problem is prices will no doubt go up in resort for the new season.

Alcohol will go up with the tax hikes food you probably wont notice to much difference

Hopefully nubber rate is roughly the same as this time last year before it dropped slightly going into the season.
