Harry Rams

If you want a change and you're fed up of rice chips and salad may I suggest Harry Rams,we had a meal there this evening and it was very nice.

It's not the chiltern firehouse or the Ivy, it's not nouvelle cuisine and i doubt it will win any awards but it is a perfectly acceptable fish and chip restaurant .

After the rubbish food and service we endured a Sidiks the other night we were pleasantly surprised at Harry Rams,

Quite busy when we arrived at approx 7-30, and not many empty tables when we left.

Not an overly large menu, the service was quick and efficient .

2 fish & chips with peas and bread and butter.

1 beer/ 1 cola

Did not eat there this year but have done so in previous years and the fish and chips are excellent. When we went last year he also did some fabulous cakes.

You always get great service as well and Typhun, the owner is a lovely man, very welcoming and friendly

Wonder why it's not listed in top 111 restaurants , how do they get a listing so that they can get reviews ?

Tuyfun , the owner, is a lovely guy. I first met him in 1997 when he was running the Chicken Shack which used to be next door to the Majestic. I've found over the years that no matter what type of restaurant he ran he always maintained very high standards . He found a niche market with Harry Rams and made it very successful. His health has not been too good over the last 2 - 3 years so he has had to ease up with his commitment but I wish him well for the future.

We went for a meal here in 2012, last year Tayfun was not well so he didn't open, we had really nice meals, I had the steak pie and John had the fish and chips, a lot cheaper than Friar Tucks which we also tried and Tayfuns was just as good and better service.
