Hi All, trying to work out how much money I’ll need to spend for a week in Icmeler. Never been to Turkey before, does anyone have a rough amount they spend a day please? (Food/drink)
Many thanks
Hi and welcome - one of the beauties of Icmeler is that it has a very wide variety of places to eat to suit all tastes and budgets. You don't say where you're staying or on what basis (self catering, half board, all inclusive etc), but for example, there are places which do English breakfasts for £1, and many places do excellent value set menus. You can eat very well and very cheaply at the little Turkish places where the locals eat - we tend to stick to those kind of places and rarely spent more than 50-60TL (less than £10) on our evening meals - that was for both of us.
One of our DEs, smc4671, kindly drew up a list of some typical prices from this year:
Below are some typical prices,
Beer 13 lira
local vodka/gin plus mixer 14 lira
small coke 8 lira
latte 9 lira
water 3 lira
raki 15 lira
Chicken set meal 45 lira
Steak set meal 72 lira
Soups 14 lira
chicken dish 35 lira
steak dish 55 lira
English brekkie 12 lira
chicken wrap 12 lira
meat wrap 15 lira
burger 15 lira
In shops
can of coke 2.5 lira
1.5 litre of coke 3.5 lira
litre milk 3 lira
bread 1.2 lira
cereal eg corn flakes 7 lira
small bottle of water 1 lira
5 litre water 3.5 lira
crisps 4 lira
eggs pack of 15 6 lira
Dolmus 3 lira
water taxi 20 lira
Manicure £8
pedicure £10
Hope that helps - have a great holiday!
It depends on how many of you there are ? Prices vary greatly, and depends on how often you want to eat out, and how many meals a day. We tend to have breakfast in apartment, then maybe every 3rd day go for a light lunch. We go out most nights, but not all, sometimes we get take away to eat in the apartment. Last year i took 3600 lira and some sterling for 3 of us, and that was more than enough, this year i will take a bit more due to some prices increasing, and that should do us. I would say £50 a day would be more than enough for everything.
It really depends on what you like to do on holiday, food is relatively cheap but alcohol prices are pretty much on a par with UK prices.
I would imagine that about £70 per day for 2 adults would be a reasonable figure.
Also if you are in an apartment and going July/August early September you will almost certainly need air con which is around £35 per week
Thank you for your help. We are both really looking forward to going. We are self catering and weren’t planning on a holiday this year so finding these deals will be super.
These prices are brill. We intend to chill out really, food and drink is where our costings will go. We usually spend £50 each everywhere else. So £50 between the 2 of us is great.
Thank you all
Edited: 5 years agoWe class it as approx. £40 each per day
That's lunch out with a drink, Beach day with a couple of drinks, evening meal and after with 3 or 4 drinks ish daily
Thank you, I’ll budget for more in case then. That’s the type of day that we do.
Looking forward to it.
We budget 150 a day between two adults and a child this includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, all drinks,shopping,2-3 boat trips and any other excursions we decide to do, also included in that is air con and safe at hotel
I budgeted 400tl each day for food and drink. This was for both the hubby and I. An average meal in the evening with alcohol will cost anything from 140 to 200 tl depending on what you have etc.
Enjoy your holiday
Spent 2 grand and didn't really do a lot can get expensive if you don't watch your purse but a lovely resort
Wow, that's a lot to spend! I guess it depends where you go and what you do, but that does seem an awful lot. It certainly doesn't have to be expensive to eat out in Icmeler, you can eat very well and very cheaply.
