Time to post a review of our recent holiday - we spent five days in Bitez before coming to Icmeler. Bitez was very quiet with quite a few hotels and restaurants not open - our hotel was lovely, but there were 19 rooms and only about three or four occupied. We also found Icmeler very quiet this year - again, quite a number of bars/apartments/hotels not open and it was sad to pass some places with not a single customer in them, or only one or two tables occupied. Even the beach was quiet - certainly no problems getting a sunbed! Stayed at the Petunya Konak, which I can highly recommend - lovely place with great staff and food was good. We had some great meals around the resort again - Meryem Yemek Evi was as good as ever, as were Kardelen and Kayra. We also tried a few new places - Nazar Pide, between the Mersoy and Mirage World was really good, huge portions and great value. We also had good authentic Turkish food - and very cheap too - at Hatay Lezzet (next to Kardelen) and Olgun Restaurant, which is just up from Robin Hood's (which was all closed up). Hoping things pick up in the coming weeks - feel very sorry for all those trying to run businesses in the resort if it remains so quiet. We genuinely didn't find hassle to be a problem though - yes, places would ask if you wanted to come in and have a drink or a meal, but that was is...no pressure.
