Basically the dolmus travels all round Icmeler before heading straight along the main road into Marmaris. When it gets to the Ataturk statue on the waterfront, it turns left there and heads up that road to the otogar (bus station). I think the last one is around 1am, but I'm not sure what time they start - it is fairly early though. If you want to go to other parts of Marmaris, you can easily hop onto one of the other dolmuses when you get there.
The Icmeler dolmus has an orange colour band across the front. It start from near the beach front at the Munamar hotel. It also run into old village going right to the back of the village to Julian Forest apartments
Journey to Mamaris takes about 15--20 minutes depending on where you go in Marmaris
There are several Dolmus in Marmaris, which take different routes. One with a dark blue band, which goes route 2 or route 3 and goes to back of Marmaris to Armutalan area. The one with a light blue stripe goes to Siteler area of Marmaris which id down beside main Marmaris to Icmeler road
There is also a white dolmus which goes from Marmaris to Turunc. Just as it is about to enter Icmeler it veers off to the right near the market and takes the back road around Icmeler, coming out at back of village near Tommys bar before heading to Turunc
Prices are relatively cheap, I think this year Icmeler to Marmaris will be around 3.5--4 lira
Thanks for replies folks. Very helpful indeed.
There's also the corporation buses that were seen around the resort more last year. They are slightly cheaper than the dolmus but to be honest the difference in price is hardly worth bothering about. Just another option and does the same route as the dolmus
From Club Sun Village, just walk down to the road where the Bahar, Faber etc is (couple of minutes' walk) and you can catch the Icmeler dolmus (orange one) which goes to Marmaris on that road. However, to catch the one to Turunc (white one), you would either need to walk along to the main road near where the market is held, or head up alongside the dry canal to Tommy's and catch it there, as it travels along the main road from Marmaris and doesn't actually come into the resort itself.
Just ask the driver to let you off in the centre of the resort "centrum" - they will stop on the main road which runs through the resort, probably just up from the main square, and you've got loads of shops, bars, restaurants etc right there. Or if you just wanted to go to the beach, again just tell the driver that and they will drop you off at the harbour end of the beachfront.
does anyone know if the dolmus to marmaris runs past or close to the Bilnur apartments in the old town?
