Places to go sledding in Gatlinburg?

Can anyone recommend a place to sled for a 6 year old in Gatlinburg? We are going to ski at Ober, but my 6 year old really wants to sled also, and I did not see anything mentioned about sledding.

There's no "official" places in Gatlinburg to go sledding; about the closest place you'll find in the area is over in Maggie Valley at a place called Tony's Tube World. It's very expensive too ($20 for 1 hour, 45 minutes of tubing; no real sleds allowed either).

Your best bet is some place along or near the Newfound Gap road up in the national park (sometimes you can sled on the Clingmans Dome road too since they don't plow it in winter).

Another place is over in NC near where the Blue Ridge Parkway meets Hwy 19 between Cherokee and Maggie Valley.

You have to find higher elevations as the snow doesn't usually stick around very long near the town of Gatlinburg, even if it falls there from time to time; it melts quickly.
