Flatbush & Parkside Avenues area, Brooklyn

We are going to be staying in the area around Flatbush & Parkside, Brooklyn. We will be arriving around 6:30 pm. Can anyone recommend a really good place to eat (as we will be starving) that would be fairly close to this area? Thank you SO much!

PS: Nothing too overly priced as we are two grandmothers bringing our two older teenage daughters. Anything you could recommend also on what to do in Brooklyn with them (not much into history) would be appreciated as well.

Are you staying at an AirBNB rental. Short term rentals are not legal in NYC

That section is not the greatest part of brooklyn

No not Airbnb. We are only there for 4 nights in an apartment

Most vacation apartment rentals in NYC are illegal.

If you're staying while the landlord is there or if there are only 2 units in the building, it MAY be legal.

If you post the exact address, posters can clarify the legality.

not the best area to stay in but the jerk chicken place has a good rating and the area is known for west indian food.

the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Brooklyn Museum is further up on Flatbush Ave. You are across from Prospect Park.

If you are keen to try /into genuine indian food, Asoka Indian grill is a good place with prices around $10-15 per person after tax & tips.

The source of a short term rental offer does not matter, the legal classification of the building does. Internet middlemen do not vet their listings for legality
