Crown Heights: Which airport to fly into and directions

My questions:

1. Is JFK or La Guardia the closest airport for Crown Heights?

2. How much does a cab or Uber/Lyft cost to CH?

3. If not cabbing, how does one take the train/subway to CH, and is this safe?

Thanks.

"Crown Heights" covers a wide area, with more than one subway line and stop serving it. Where are you staying?

As the crow flies, JFK is probably closer - but I don't know how that translates into taxi/Uber times or fares. (And I wouldn't decide on flights on that basis.)

As others have said, cross streets are necessary for more specific directions.

Regarding where in Crown Heights, I need route information for Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue in the Chabad Lubavitch section. Thanks.

There's no very direct public transportation route to that location. I think your best bet would be the AirTrain to Jamaica, then the Long Island Rail Road to the Brooklyn terminal (NOT Manhattan). At that location I'd take the 3 train subway to Kingston Avenue (& Eastern Parkway.)

There are subway alternatives after the AirTrain that avoid the Long Island Rail Road, but they're pretty roundabout.

Thanks.

How long do you think all that would take from JFK airport?

As of right now Google maps estimates this at one hour twenty minutes. This all depends on how long you'd need to wait for a train, but they're pretty frequent.

If you use Google maps for directions, click in the little train icon for options and times. I see that one option is to get of the LIRR at Nostrand Avenue and walk up to Eastern Parkway. That's possible but if you've got any luggage at all with you I think you'd prefer taking the LIRR to Atlantic Terminal, the last Brooklyn stop, and then taking the subway back to Kingston Avenue.
