2. Re: earthquake?

About 20 minutes ago I felt my chair shaking here in my office in Westchester ...... people thought it was truck passing outside. But then my wife called me to tell me they evacuated here building down by the B'klyn Bridge and people's cell phones aren't working (maybe too many people calling loved one). Someone in my office called his wife and she felt it too in Brooklyn. The news says it was 5.8 earthquake also affecting Washington DC.

I just hope there isn't a bigger quake to follow !

That is so weird - I was just sitting here (in Columbus, Ohio) about 10 or 15 minutes ago and felt my chair and computer shaking!

Yes, funny how not everyone in my office felt it. Wow, that was freaking weird.

Why can't my building be evacuated?

7. Re: earthquake?

I didn't feel it. Did other people feel it in high rise buildings in the city?

9. Re: earthquake?

Yup. Here in Brooklyn, my windows shook (not too much) and plant leaves shook as did my chair I was sitting on. I grabbed my bag and some cash and was ready to leave just in case it got worse but it only lasted maybe up to a minute if that long.
