Your cruise ship leaves from Bayonne NJ

You have two options. One is easy and one is cheap.

Option 1 - Call or use the website of one of the three reputable car service outfits to prearrange a sedan from your hotel to the cruise ship.

All State www.allstatelimo.com - +1 212 333 3333

Dial 7 www.dial7.com - +1 212 777 7777

Carmel - +1 212 666 6666

Alternatively, get yourself to a PATH station. PATH trains stop at 33rd Street / 6th Avenue, 23rd Street / 6th, 14th St. / 6th, 9th St. / 6th, Christopher St., and a separate branch from the World Trade Center. The PATH train is like a subway but it is operated by the Port Authority and it is the "Trans Hudson" tubes - hence PATH. The cost is $1.75.

Once in New Jersey, the PATH links up with the Hudson - Bergen Light Rail. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail has a stop at E.34th Street in Bayonne New Jersey (don't get confused with East 34th Street in Manhattan - NYC). It seems you can walk to the cruise port very easily from there.

See how much the sedan will cost. A middle option is to take PATH across the Hudson River to save money and then get a local taxi in New Jersey (but heck if you're going to go to all that effort, why not take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and save the entire cost of any taxi fare).

Well, probably not with luggage but if they have roll aboards and they're hell bent on saving the taxi fare, I suppose it is do-able. It isn't *that* far but I don't know whether there are even sidewalks. I just know the distance between the light rail and the boat isn't *that* far.

Hopefully they'll either get a sedan from their hotel *or* if they're right by a PATH station, they'll take a taxi from Jersey City.

The entrance to the pedestrian walkway for the Cruise Port isn't far from the light rail station in Bayonne, but it's a fair trek down to the reception/boarding area. About 2 miles in all.

Truthfully, I'd spring for a car service from Manhattan or taxi service from Jersey City. Especially if your departure date is a Saturday or Sunday, when light rail service isn't as frequent as on weekdays. Plus, it will cost you almost $10 anyway, with tip, to ride with one of Bayonne's cab companies from the rail station to the cruise reception area.
