How do I get to hear a gospel group for free. We are 3 seniors visiting NYC from July 1-3.

Check the FreetoursbyFoot website as they have gospel tours. Remember that these are religious services, not a club performance.

there's also a couple of guys that sing gospel music and also doowop in front of Murrays Cheese Shop on Bleecker Street but they don't exactly have a schedule

There are several options: https:/…

At a church service a donation would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. We have decided to attend the church service at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. Heard they are awesome. The distance from Residence Inn, Bronx to Brooklyn is rather daunting. It takes 1.5 hours by public transit.

After the 1 p.m. service we will visit the bridge and park before heading to our hotel in North Bergen.

Have to figure the transport system.

That's the drawback of staying that far up.

Take whatever is running this weekend at the Westchester Sq/E Tremont Av stop which is closest to your hotel down to Borough Hall in Brooklyn.

It's a 2 min walk from there.

(Make sure you check the MTA weekender online for service changes.)

Forgot about the 2nd part of your question.

Many scenic ways to do this.

After the service, walk back towards the subway at Borough Hall. You will be on Court Street. Keep walking down Court Street until you see the park(Cadman Park) and you will be on Cadman Plaza West. Go through the park and get on Cadman Plaza East.

Follow the crowds down until you go under the underpass(where you can enter to walk over the Bklyn Bridge.)

Walk through DUMBO and then up Front Street or Water Street. if you are doing this on a Sunday. the Brooklyn Flea will be taking place. You can shop and grab a bite to eat.

This will pretty much lead you to Bklyn Bridge Park.

Many different ways to get there including walking along Cadman Plaza West.

However, going through DUMBO is more scenic.

At any service do give a reasonable donation - as you would in your own church - at least $10 per person.
