First time to NYC! Help with itinerary please.

Hello all, I'm hoping you can give me some advise on our itinerary for this weekend. Is this too much or too little? My 15 year old daughter and I will be traveling to NYC for the first time. Our flight arrives JFK at 2pm. We are staying at a hotel off of 6th Ave and 29th St. This is what I have so far;

Saturday - Arrive at 2pm

Take taxi from JFK to Hotel

Check in to Hotel

Get something to eat (maybe Ulivo or Eataly)

Empire State Building (check out from outside)

Grand Central Station

Top of the Rock (Have Tickets for 7pm)

Times Square

Carlo's Bakery

Either walk back to hotel so we can just look around or take the subway

Sunday - Must do's

Brunch at 10am close to hotel

Central Park

MET

Barney's

Tiffany & Co (just to look and say we were there!)

Sunset and Harbor Lights (have tickets for 7pm)

If we have time maybe some Shopping (what areas could we shop in this area on our way back to our hotel?)

Monday

ChinaTown

The 911 Memorial

Battery Park

Seaport District (maybe)

Financial District (maybe)

Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge

Dumbo (Eat at Juliana's)

Take the Ferry back

Tuesday (Flight leaves at 5pm from JFK)

The High Line

Shopping - Brandy Melville

Do you think this is too much? Would we be able to fit in shopping in our Sunday itinerary? My 15 year old loves to shop so please let me know what areas are the best for teens.

Thank you very much!

Your Sunday looks very packed to me, unless your idea and my idea of brunch is totally different! If you're just grabbing something quick and plan to be done in under an hour, then may be possible, but you also have to factor in getting from point A to point B. Where does the Sunset Harbor Lights depart from? And I'm assuming you plan to shop at Barneys and will need to drop off stuff at your hotel?

Also if you're eating at 10, you will probably be hungry at some point during the day so may need to factor in a snack.

I agree about Sunday, and most of that comes from brunch at 10:00 am. I'd consider getting out far earlier and getting breakfast and then head to Central Park.

At this point, the forecast is saying showers late Saturday and possibly into Sunday morning, so hard to predict at this point.

Brandy Melville is in SoHo. That whole area for shopping is good for your 15 year old. If you are really buying a lot at Barneys, consider shipping it home. Why carry it around and have to pack it? They are happy to ship.

You may want to just skip Chinatown on Monday to spend more time seeing FiDi. You may want to eat at Eataly.

Make sure you get an early start on Monday. Chinatown is fun early when the fish stores have all their fresh offerings out for sale.

As stated, SOHO is a great area for shopping for your 15yr old. Also, up and down 34th Street right outside Macy's.

So I thought our Monday looked more packed. We will skip brunch. l thought it would be a fun idea to go to the 230 Rooftop for my daughter. She thinks the rooftop restaurant thing is really cool. I didn’t really find any places that allow 15 year olds in for dinner.

Thank you! It figures we would pick a rainy weekend to go to New York. :) We are so excited about it anyway! We will hope for the best!

As just about every local and regular visitor will advise you, when walking the Brooklyn Bridge, watch out for the bikers! They have a path on one side and the people walking have a path on the other. I have seen some scary accidents during my day when the person walking was not paying attention or when the biker was not doing the same.
