Four friends visiting in the fall, on a budget, staying by the Museum of Natural History.

My biggest questions are: if any of the days are too packed or too empty; which day might be best for getting a Double Decker bus pass and recommendations on which one; are we missing any great food options close to our activities; and best ways to get from place to place? Thanks so much!!

Friday is looking a little busy and will be a long day and I'm not sure you'll be able to accomplish all of it. Maybe go to Times Square after the theater. The free hours at the MoMA mean long queues to get in and a frantic crowd inside. Just a heads up.

Otherwise, mainly OK.

On the final Monday, maybe go to MoMA this day. It will help with the busy Friday and crowds should be less.

You will be in or near Times Square when you go to Wicked.

That's a lot of museums(excluding the 9/11 Museum which I feel is a must see.)

I would not do 2 museums on Friday afternoon when you have to go back to your hotel to change, have dinner and make a 8pm show. Just me.

The roof cafe does not serve dinner - only high priced drinks. Long lines. Agree your Friday is nuts. Rent a boat not a bike on a weekend in Central Park. If you are doing Sarabeth's before the service it will be breakfast not brunch. Hope you will learn buses and subways before you come because you really haven't accounted for walking time between events on your hitlist.

^^

I echo this.

NYC isn't really a walk from A to B city. You will be tempted to stop/look/photograph/eat/sit/watch/etc. all the time.

I would take a look at a subway map and plan to use that which will save you time in between your attractions.
