I will be there for a week. Interested in good food, good drinks & unique local gift/decor shops. Any off the beaten path must dos?
San Diego is quite a large spread out city.
Where are you staying? Will you have a car? What are you planning to see/do?
I cannot tell you what a "must do" would be for you since we don't know your interests or activity level or if you are alone or with young children?
The more you tell us the better we can offer advice!
For example-Some folks might consider going tandem on a hang glider to be a unique "must do " experience but it's not one for me.
Some might think a speed boat tour would be fun and others wouldn't.
Cedros Ave in Solana Beach has some unique shops:
I also find the artisan shops at the Spanish Village in Balboa Park to have unique items.
You might also go to one of our street fair/farmer's markets that are held daily in different neighborhoods.
Little Italy on Saturday and Ocean Beach on Wed are 2 I like.Edited: 09 June 2018, 19:41
I thought for sure this thread was going to be about electronics, I wss ready to give directions to Best Buy in Mission Valley,
It will be me & my husband. We are renting a car. I enjoy browsing unique local shops. We both would enjoy cool, local restaurants with good cocktails & beer. Are there any fun tours..we are not interested in museums. We are staying at the navy base on Coronado island.
I would try normal hieghts on adams ave or north park have good shops and local vibe
I would recommend the speed boat tour. It’s very entertaining.
La Jolla probably has the highest concentration of independent boutiques in the San Diego area that include clothing, galleries, books, etc.
None of these shops are Used or Re-Sale shops.Edited: 10 June 2018, 05:05
