It's very straightforward. Upon exiting the Embarcadero BART Station, you walk northeast on Market heading towards the Ferry Building and the Bay. On the center island separating the two directions of traffic on the Embarcadero, immediately in front of the Ferry Building you catch a F-line MUNI streetcar (the vintage streetcars painted in the colors of their original transit operators) heading north(west) bound towards Fisherman's Wharf. Debark at Bay Street, walk about half a block northwest along the Embarcadero (same direction that your streetcar was going) and you're there.
Thanks so much for the info
Also do i pay for the bus when we board or buy tickets ahead of time. Thank You
You enter the front of the streetcar and pay your fare ($1.50 for adults, $0.50 for seniors, disabled, or youths) via the fare box next to the driver (no change available). Make sure to accept a transfer, which is (a) proof of payment and (b) good for additional rides for at least 90 minutes after issuance.
Alternately, if you'll be riding MUNI frequently, you can purchase a MUNI Passport, which comes in 1, 3, and 7 day flavors. A passport rapidly becomes cost effective if you plan to ride the Cable Cars. Additional information on MUNI Passports here http://www.sfmta.com/cms/mfares/passports.htm
How about you walk ten minutes from the bart stop. Get to the Ferry 30 minutes before departure
If you walk, allow at least 20 minutes to Pier 33. It is nice, flat walking along the bay front. You could stop in at the Ferry Building on the way, but allow enough time.
