Restaurant on the water?

Hello,

I'm planning a surprise bday party for a friend and she doesn't know we are going to Lake Geneva but has requested she wants dinner outside next to the water. Is there any nice restaurants in Lake Geneva or even the surrounding towns?

Not too much is "on the water" in Lake Geneva due to the fact that the shoreline is all private property. There are a few restaurants that are very close to the water and that are good. Baker House is a relatively new restaurant in an old Victorian home that is located on Wrigley Drive across the street from the lake. I have not been there but it is getting fun reviews for its eclectic, small plate food and costumed wait staff. There is also the Grandview Restaurant in the Geneva Inn, which has a beautiful patio overlooking the lake. There is also Kirsch's Restaurant at the French Country Inn about a mile west outside of Lake Geneva and it overlooks Lake Como. All of these would be high-end restaurants. If you want something more casual, fun, loud and where boaters hang out, head over to Gordy's Boat House Bar & Restaurant in Fontana. It is right down the street from the Abbey Resort. It, too, overlooks the water because Gordy's has a marina and boat slips. .Hope this helps.

If you want to be "on the water" take the lunch boat ride that leaves fromt he Riviera dock. The food is decent and they tell you about the houses around the lake.
