Needs activity suggestions just over the Canadian border

Not leaving until Sunday. Want something to do tomorrow, over the border but not into Vancouver. A day trip, something fun to see or do. Tired of driving so under an hour would be good. Did a lot in a Northern Washington already. Thanks

Steveston is a old fishing village with a sort of Monterey CA type of feel. Lots of shops. There is also a large Buddhist Temple closeby that is open to visitors. A visit to White Rock is also fun with a nice walk along the water.

White Rock is always good. Perhaps a stop in Richmond for Asian food?

Harrison Hot Springs has a public pool facility with reasonable fee. They have locker room for changing and then you can relax in the big hot spring pool. http://www.tourismharrison.com/

If you enjoy bird watching, then check out the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com/visitor.html

If you are a fan of the TV series "Once upon a time" Steveston is Storeyville

I am not a birder, but I spent some time this Spring outside of Vancouver and it was the best Bird viewing I have ever experienced including Raptor Rescue Center. If that interests you let me know. In Spring of course birds are nesting like eagles and there are more birds in Winter.

You could easily burn an hour in each direction queuing for the border. Nonetheless, fish and chips on the water in White Rock, or visit the quirky town of Point Roberts, WA, accessed only through BC.

With the change in the currency over the last few months, not nearly as many Cdns crossing south to shop, which is a large cause of the delays at the border. It should be Ok.
