After surviving cardinogenic shock I started a recovery swim program. At age 75 I decided to give Birch Bay a shot. Although the water temp at the deep was bout 55 degrees I donned my wet suit and Jerry O Gorman readied his Boston whaler to accompany me on this attempt. It's Friday August 8th 2015 and my third attempt. The weather is optimal. And what do you know, I made the 2 mile crossing in exactly 11/2 hours. Just us planed. I can't find anything on record that anyone has ever done it. I know for sure that no one had ever done after surviving cardiogenic shock and complicated open heart surgery.
