Classic Wooden, Sailboat or Yacht for Wedding

Hello Intrepid Travelers!!

My fiancee and I are getting married at Semiahmoo on July 31, 2011. We would like to charter a classic wooden boat, sailboat or yacht as our "get away vessel" after the wedding.

We would like to charter a crewed vessel for one day from Semiahmoo to Vancouver. Please help!! So far, renting a boat during the height of the summer months has not proven to be very easy so far!!

Thank you in advance!

Have you checked with the Semiahmoo marina?

Have you contacted the Blaine Chamber of Commerce for a recommendation?

I think many boats are chartered for a minimum week at that time, which may be part of the problem.

Here is a boat out of Blaine.

That's a good idea Katzgar. Even thought the Center is in Seattle, they might know of or have a good contact for you in the Semiahmoo area.

Have you also spoken with the Semiahmoo wedding/event coordinators?

One day is a problem, wood boat compounds it. I like the above ideas. You might have to "settle" for a glass boat from the marinas mentioned or out of the major rental companies in Anacortes.

There are several wooden boats around here -- how about the Adventuress?

I don't know that they do charters, but they might. They also might know of other ships similar to theirs.

Post at the yacht clubs and marinas, too. Don't forget Shilshole, Everett and Edmonds -- I saw a beauty in Everett the other day.

They are boats, and can be sailed up to Blaine.
