Williamsburg- first time

Never been but will be in mid-August. Can you park at the Visitor Center and then walk to Jamestown? Or drive or shuttle? Are other historic sites within walking distance?

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a shuttle bus that runs from the Visitor Center of Colonial Williamsburg to the CW area. It is free if you have purchased tickets for CW or for a modest fee to the general public. For details, see: https:/…bus-transportation

There is no shuttle to Historic Jamestowne or the Yorktown Battlefield and it’s too far to walk—10 miles and 21 miles, respectively.

The Colonial Parkway connects Yorktown on the north, CW in the middle, and Jamestowne on the south. This is the fastest way between them and quite a nice drive as well.

You park at the CW VC, catch a bus to the Historic area which circumnavigates the area. To Yorktown and Jamestowne you drive. Yorktown has a VC and a self-guided auto tour of the battlefield, the waterfront has several nice eateries and shops. Jamestowne has the original site run by the NPS(recommended) with a VC with out front parking and next door a state run recreation.

Reading through their websites would be most helpful to you.
