Dont let the name rainbow falls convince you of anything.

There nothing special,a 2 min walk from the carpark and your there.Infact when i saw them last after heavy rain could have renamed them chocolate falls.

Kia ora

The falls are not spectacular. The river walk is quite pleasant, and not long or hard.

You can start at the Stone Store, follow the river to the falls and either return via the river or back along Waipapa Road, about 3 km.

Haruru Falls are not spectacular either. ;-)

Both Rainbow and Haruru you can park within a two minute walk (depending on how slowly you walk).

By world standards they barely qualify as waterfalls.

The better waterfalls are ones you need to walk to.

Around Coromandel,Waikato,Haast,Catlins,Able Tasman.

Huka falls are good near Taupo, everyone stops there.
