Really looking for a place on water, with a kitchenette and an available fire pit. I have 2 boys under 10 that are active and love to play and roam. Any suggestions for places in GMNP would be awesome. Staying 5 nights before heading to st anthony

What are your dates? Things are booking up fast, you may have problems finding a place.
Gros Morne Cabins, Cozy Corner and Bayside are all near the water in Rocky Harbour
You do not say your dates but this one https://www.vrbo.com/4481086ha fits your description. It is on the water and has a fire pit. It is at the end of a quiet lane that goes along the bay but is just a few minute walk into town.
The only one who is true water front is Gros Morne cabins the other's are view or are kind of close to the water. The VRBO listing I not sure of but would make sure it is properly insured as a daily rental before renting ask to see the policy!!.if not walk. I would doubt you will find 5 nights in July but keep looking and start phoning around and make sure if you need a car rental that is booked also.
Thanks. I will have my own car. I have started to email all folks in GMNP park to try and get 5 nights. It is in first week of July I am visiting
Right now I am able to book shallow bay (cow head) bayside cottages (RH) Burnt hill cottages (Norris point) C and G cabins (RH) middle brook cottages (Glenburnie)
Any of these seem better suited to younger children and more central location?
Shallow Bay in Cow Head is at the northern most part of the park, but would be that much closer to St. Anthony. Glenburnie is a bit out of the way for me, the cottages in Norris Point and Rocky Harbour are more central, Burnt Hill I think probably has the better views.
Edited: 6 years agoGreyhoundlover, I live in Gros Morne Park. I know what I know about lodgings in the park and I do not promote any business. I just try to offer advice and answer questions. I know where the VRBO rental is. I have walked by it many times. It is on Beach Road just before it turns into a foot path in Woody Point. It is called Beach Road for a reason. The reason is it is along a small beach. The cottage sits a little bit (driveway) above Beach Road and has a spectacular view of the Tickle, Norris Point, and Gros Morne Mountain. If there are whales in the bay it is a spectacular place to view them. Bald eagles perch in the trees in that area. The person who owns this plus two other cabins is a proper business person with proper insurance, etc. FYI - there are other rentals in Woody Point in the Curzon Village area that have excellent "waterviews" along Fishermen's Road.... and then if you just want a spectacular view at least 4 different establishments come to mind. The one I referred to fits what was being asked for by OP, plus there is a sandy/stoney beach just below the driveway where the boys could play and be seen while the parents sip wine on the deck...., Yes the south side is a drive from the north side of the bay, as the north side is from the south side. Both sides have a lot to offer. Just trying to keep the record straight here and not have misinformation in this forum.
Edited: 6 years agoa VRBO property is just like a Airbb property, All I said was any rental property is make sure it is properly insured as a daily rental and not just a homeowners policy, especially with young kids
shallow bay (cow head) across the road from the bay but no access to the water the largest beach on the west side of NL would be a 3-4 minute drive
bayside cottages (RH) across the road from the water with maybe some rocky shore water access.
Burnt hill cottages not on the water but again a view (Norris point)
C and G cabins (RH) a long ways to the water in a industrial area
middle brook cottages (Glenburnie) nice not sure of water access but across the road from the bay and look nice. To be central it would be norris point or RH I would split your time in two locations
Are spruce grove cabins in RH in a good location or is it more industrial area as well?
In the industrial area and not close to the water
