Palma Nova to Palma

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get from Palma Nova to Palma (Cathedral Area and other Tourist spots)

We are travelling with a party of 50 -60 year olds and one of our party has mobility difficulities.

How much would it cost? Or would it be easier to get a taxi for 6.

Thanks for any hints and tips

Bus or taxi, you'd need 2 taxis though at approx 20 euros, bus is easy, 3 euros each approx into Palma, you have 4 busses, 104/5/6/7 so no shortage that go to Palma. Beware pick pockets operate around the Cathedral and also target busy busses and queues, not trying to scare you, just keep you wits about you, and keep valuables safe. Dont carry large amounts of cash passports etc with you.

Would the mobility issues allow using public transport? If so, there are a few buses run from Palma Nova to Palma, and they all stop at the cathedral.

Have a look at the bus timetable to get an idea.

A taxi for 6 would have to be booked as most taxis only take up to 4 passengers. Don't think it would be a problem, just needs planning.

All the above buses go to Palma but the 105 I think it is doesn't stop by the Cathedral. That is the fast bus so doesn't stop as much and goes a different route. They all go into the bus station though so if you fancy the trip on the train to Soller you could do that as well on a different day. The Soller train station is just over the road to the main bus station. There is also the HoHo bus, red bus number 50 that goes around Palma and you can get on and off that as many times as you like during the day to see the different parts of Palma without too much walking.

We found it extremely easy getting the bus from Palma Nova to Palma & jumping off when we saw the Cathedral. One word of warning though.....the bus driver was not accepting higher denomination notes (can't remember if it was 10's &/or 20's). There was a sign up as you got on the bus stating this but we saw a few people getting caught out. So best remember to have 5's & euro coins on you ENJOY :-)
