I hope this info helps.
This time of year it is rough. None of the National Park campgrounds are open. Yet the back country sites are (tent and shelter only and you need a free permit)http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/camping.htm I would check the website that Keshgrammy provided to see if that helps. I cannot think of anything with in 30 minutes. There is a small campgroung next to the Shenandoah river off of US 340 N between Shenandoah and Stanley ,Va. but i can't remember its name. There is a KOA in Luray, also one in Broadway, Va. In addition, There is another one in Verona, Va. All three of these are a little over an hours drive to Massanutten.
Greetings Greenville,
Are you referring to a small camping site, River.....? By Kent's Store, or, Kite's Store?
