Mosquitoes in September

We are planning a trip to Chincoteague Island in September, but I have great difficulties with mosquitoes. Any advice on whether to go over Labor Day or mid-September? Is the Comfort Suites in an area that is mosquito-ridden?

There are currently no (ZERO) mosquitoes around! Usually September is a low-skeeter month. It all depends upon the weather - if it's rainy followed by hot & humid, there will be bugs. We have been blessed with very nice breezy weather for most of August - and no mosquitoes!
