Kayaks

We have been to CI but not for 12 years. This time we want to bring our kayaks. Are there places we can put in easily? Also, can we use an EZ Up canopy over on the beach?

We launched our Kayaks at the Veteran's Park. Nice facility with tables, rest rooms, play area, & boat launch.

It's on the north side so you can go across toward the Asseteague side. There are other spots around too. Check maps. Watch out for low tide. Gets very shallow.

Have a good trip.

Cheers! ------ Ken

There's a landing on East Side Road, near McGee Lane, and one in Memorial Park, that are both good for kayaks. Both of these will give you access to the Wildlife Refuge. At one time you had to buy a week's permit from the police station to park there, but I do not know if that's still true. There's a couple of outfitters along that road that can give you good advice.

Yes! You can use your canopy on the beach as long as the winds allow - we've seen plenty of them flying along the sand!

You can use an ez up canopy on the beach. You can also easily put kayaks in on the bay side of beach parking lot.
