Here is the site to look for LIDL stores:
Type in Torremuelle and you will find 5 stores.
That simply shows the nearest five Lidl stores, it doesn't mean any of them are particularly close to Torremuelle.
The one in Arroyo might be technically nearer although the one on the Torremolinos/Benalmádena border is probably the easiest for you to reach by bus if Lidl is a must.Edited: 24 January 2012, 14:18
Coming from England you probably won´t have heard of Mercadona which is the best of the Spanish supermarkets and a match for Lidl as far as food and prices are concerned. You won´t get the weekly special non food items or the special German and Greek food items but for everything else it is at least as good. And there is one in Torremuelle.
Wheres the Mercadona in Torremuelle? There is one at Nueva Torrequebrada, and there was a Kwik Save at Torremuelle behind El Mimbre furniture store, although it was closed when we passed in December. (not sure if closed for good or just not open when we passed).
Re the Kwik Save at Torremuelle - We walked passed this a few times in November/December. Each time we passed it it wasn't open and the last time - whilst we were passing someone told us it had been closed for a while so it looks as if it may be shut for good.
As with most towns down here the boundaries within a municipality are somewhat obscure. I don´t live in Torremuelle but friends who do refer to the Mercadona as being the Torremuelle Mercadona. Probably easy to split hairs and say it is the neighbouring barrio. it certainly isn´t far from Torremuelle and I think it is closer than a Lidl.
The Kwick Save was being refurbished when I drove past yesterday and will be graced with a new name, I think it was Supersave but there is probably a pedant who will say I have that wrong as well.
It was more a question of "has a Mercadona opened in Torremuelle" than a criticism of your info.
Nearest Aldi is near the Buddhist temple in the Pueblo, about 10 minutes drive from Torremuelle if you know your way up the back roads. Enjoy your stay.
