Hi there

If you type in "morocco" or "day trips" into the small search box at the top of this forum (not the large one at the top left of the page) then you will find many many threads regarding this topic.

Happy reading

We went a few years ago and had a really fun day. It's a very early start and a very long day, but well worth it as a day trip. We went with Costafrica, see link:

This is the tour itinerary:

Upon arrival we will have a panoramic tour of the city by bus and then with a local guide we will proceed with a complete sightseeing tour of this city, including the Kasbah and the Medina (the walled city), and through the Jewish quarter and the Zoco, were we became aware of the many mixed cultures living in total harmony in today´s Morocco. Afterwards we will enjoy a very typical Moroccan lunch (harira soup, Cous-Cous, brochete, Moroccan tea and patisserie) accompanied by a Moroccan musicians show. After lunch the clients will have the possibility to do some shopping before arriving to the port to get the boat to return to Tarifa or Algeciras, and Costa del Sol.

We did a one day trip to Morocco last year and quite honestly it was a waste of money - think it was around equivalent of £40 each. Very early morning start to pick up all over the place then on to the ferry.

We toured the town, had photo stop with a couple of camels then into a restaurant for a very early lunch.

We were then taken on the walking tour round the town where the only shops we were "allowed" to go in was a carpet shop where we were kept for at least an hour then into a herbalist kind of place and again kept in there and a souvenier shop. When we wanted to do our own shopping was told we had to stay with the group as we may get lost. Another organised photo stop with a snake charmer then hearded back to the ferry where we sat for another hour before it set off.

Were quite disappointed in the whole day and could have spent our money on a better excursion llke going to El Chorro (the Malaga lake district).
