Looking for a fun place over looking the water for dinner one night in Galveston. Just looking for water view and good food.
The Spot is really good and nice menu variety. Marios is a good Italian restaurant, but views are more limited. Both of these are on the seawall.
Sorry, but all the restaurants that were on piers over the Gulf were washed away during Ike, along with the gift shops and the Balinese Room. Murdoch's has rebuilt a very large souvenir shop where their old one used to be. A new Pleasure Pier is being built on the piers where the old Flagship Hotel was once located. Several new fishing piers are going up also.
It would be lovely if someone with money (Fertita perhaps?) would build a new restaurant, but I think all of his money is going to the Pleasure Pier.
Have a look at Fish Tails.
On the harbor side, Olympia Grill at Pier 21 is good. It is Greek Seafood and good for something differen
If you have the time, take the Boliver Ferry to Crystal Beach. There is a sign on the left for Stingaree's. It is right on the Intracoastal canal, and the sunsets are spectacular. Unfortunately the main attraction, local seafood, is not an option this year due to the salinity of the bay. I'm going to be visiting in a couple of days, and don't know if I will go this year.
I second The Spot. It has a view of the gulf.
1+ Stingaree -- good food -- good price's -- dress as you please
