one night/day in Galveston

My husband and i are coming into Galveston. We will be there mid-Nov, getting in on a Thursday night around 7PM. We'll spend the next day exploring. If we want to be able to stretch our legs on Thursday night -- walk a little and get a bite to eat -- do you have any suggestions where we should stay? Tough to decide if we should be by the Strand or Seawall Blvd. This is an anniversary trip -- so we are willing to splurge on the hotel.

thank you.

Splurging on the hotel would be the Tremont Hotel in the Strand area, or along the seawall the San Luis, Hotel Galvez or Hilton. Both locations offer dining in the evening, though you'll have more options by the seawall.

Galveston is fairly compact, so even if you stay in one area, it won't take long to get to the other area.

Happy Anniversary and welcome to Texas!
