Weatherwise, our winters are usually mild, especially along the coast. It can also be unpredictable.......we can be in shorts one day, bundled in layers and coats the next.

Full tourist season has not gotten underway at that time, that begins in March with Spring Break. Galveston is open year round, so you won't miss anything.

One of the big events in January are Restaurant Week Jan 15-21

In February, there is Mardi Gras February 10-21

Hope this will get you started.

We are looking at a cruise out of Galveston at the beginning of February. I see that local weather could be a mix of anything.

I can deal with that for the day/night we would spend in Galveston before the cruise (still has to be warmer than Toronto!!) but does anybody have any idea how long we need to sail before it gets hot??

The ship leaves Galveston then had 2 days at sea before docking in Montego Bay. Will those 2.5 days be cold??
