Best beach close to the Dawn Condos

What is the best beach area near the Dawn Condo. Looking for the least crowded and cleaniest. Is the Dawn on the east or west end? Also, what restaurants are near by?

Welcome back! I'm glad you found a beach you enjoyed, and seaweed wasn't a problem.

The pocket parks are a great alternative to seawall beaches.

Do any of Galveston's beaches have snack bars these days?

East Beach (Apfel), and Stewart Beach both had snack bars in the past. Sorry, but I haven't been to either this summer...only the free Seawall beaches.

East Beach did not appear to have any facilities at all. The guy at the gate said all of their buildings were destroyed in the hurricane :( No snack bar at pocket park #2, but we were thinking it would be a lucrative business for someone;)

If you go to one of the beaches along the seawall, you could walk across the street to an eatery of your choice ;)
