Walking to the Farmers Market

Staying at an Airbnb on Church St. & thinking of walking to the farmers market. Google Maps is directing me down city streets bypassing the state capital, but thinking it would be more scenic to walk through Leg Plaza, State Capital Park, Bicentennial Park & over to the market. Wondering if this is doable?

Yes, you can do that. Keep to the right side of the State Capitol and you'll find some stairs just north of President James K. Polk's tomb. They lead down to 6th Ave. Walk to the left on 6th to another set of stairs leading down to James Robertson Parkway at 7th. Continue north on 7th into Bicentennial Mall State Park and the Farmer's Market.

Here's that route on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/CUpZ83jnb9q

Monkey nailed the route and as someone who worked in and around the Plaza and Capitol building, you are correct in thinking this will be a nice walk. I recommend building some time in to stroll the Capitol grounds and possibly doing a free guided tour (tours run Mon-Fri 9am-3pm at the top of the hour and last about 40-50 minutes).
