beach walking / pub visiting?

We will bevisiting Surfside / Myrtle Beach next week. We are planning not renting a car and using either uber or lyft. Where is the best place to be dropped off that would allow us to walk the beach and visit pubs, listening to music and enjoying the great atmosphere?

Depends on how long you plan on being in the area...Surfside is a nice area, but without a car, you are quite limited in your options. If you are going to be in the area more than 3 nights it is best to rent a car because in the long run it will be cheaper and easier on you if have a car to get around in. Regardless of which service you use to get around (taxi, uber, etc) Those trip will add up quickly and dollar for dollar a rental car will probably be more economical. (Just to give a sense of what you are looking at, we were is Surfside in July and took a taxi from the Surfside Pier to a couple of bars about 5 miles away and the taxi ride was $17 each way.)

^^^ " Where is the best place to be dropped off..?" What do you mean "dropped off"? Do you mean what hotel to stay in?....or just an area for some afternoon/night time entertainment?

Thank you for the response!

It is very helpful! We will be staying in a presidential villa at plantation. We are interested in walking the beach, visiting the pubs, eating some great food, and listening to music. Since we are traveling from the plantation resort where would you suggest we be dropped off or park fir this experience?

Ah..Ok then...just an area for a day trip. I would head to the Boardwalk area first. Beach is right there and many restaurants along the boardwalk for lunch, snacks, etc. Nightlife too. It would be around the 8th Ave North Ocean Blvd area. Lots of parking options...meter, lots, building.

You could also go to Broadway at the Beach, a large entertainment, restaurant, shopping complex. Good nightlife there too.

You are also close to Murrells Inlet, to the south of Surfside. Great restaurants along the Marsh Walk there...many with live music.

The Marshwalk is an excellent suggestion. Gorgeous inlet views and and a fabulous atmosphere. You will enjoy strolling the boardwalk there and taking in the sights and sounds. Lots of good food and drink too.

You are not staying within walking distance of the beach. The resort will provide shuttle to and from the beach, but I'm not really sure where the drop off is at. We stay at presidential villas every year and love it, but have never been on the shuttle although many people use them. The only place close to the beach to grab a beer would be the pier. Most of the Surfside Beach ocean area is mostly condos. I've heard good things about Greg's Cabana. Supposed to have one of the best burgers in the area. I've not been able to go because of the kids but looks like a good place for a cold beer.
