Winter classic visit

Any suggestions for new years eve with 1 teenager and one "of-age" kid. We will be in town for winter classic and want something fun to do for new years.

Check out www.firstnightpgh.org. Have never done this but know some that have. They've enjoyed it.

First night is probably your best option. It has activities for all ages (much of it is for smaller children, but there are options for adults as well). The fireworks at midnight are always great! Not sure if the activities at Rivers Casino would be for all ages, but you could always check that out as well.

Rivers is out...in order to be on premises, you must be 21.

Thank you all. Is there a Dave and Buster's anywhere? we are staying in the southside and looking for places to walk to or have dinner on NY eve.

then we can see the fireworks.

The only Dave & Buster's around Pittsburgh that I am aware of is at the Waterfront in Homestead. That is a former steel town, and it is quite a ways down the river from the South Side (i.e., you can't walk it, but it would not be a hugely long cab ride either).

Thank you

I have been searching this site for someplace to go for New years eve- my kids probably won't be into the earlier events of first night- they are 13 and 22. i was checking out the Station Square and the other place in the south side. any other suggestions?

i guess you are going to the winter classic also- by your name. we went last year as well... great time

Although this may not help you with evening things to do on Dec 31st, there is an Alumni game on New Years Eve. The game starts at 9:30am and you also get to watch the Pens practice at 11:30am after the game. The Capitals practice will be closed to the public. With a teenage on board, I think your options for evening/nighttime activities are limited.
